Due to the influence of American Hip-Hop apparel brands such as FUBU, Triple-5-Soul or Wu-Wear, locally produced urban wear had started to emerge.

Some of the most popular hip-hop apparel were those created by some of the big names in Pinoy Rap such as Francis Magalona or Denmark Repuyan. Others were independently produced and sold in limited outlets.
