Biography:
Bass Rhyme Posse, is one of the premier Pinoy Rap groups. Composed of Norman B., Jay Smooth MC. and Andy Luv MD., they were part of Andrew E.’s Rock All Parties crew back in the late 80s.
The three merged and in 1990 formed the group, Pine Rhyme as they were from Las Piñas in the southern part of Metro Manila. They then changed their name to Bass Rhyme Posse and released their self titled debut album under Viva Records, a year later. The album contained their hit tracks such as “Let Da Beat Flow”, “Bad Trip” and “Buhay Estudyante”.
Upon its release, Bass Rhyme Posse became The Philippine counterpart to RUN-D.M.C. as both their music and fashion style were highly influenced by this group.
They were active until 1993 as its members had immigrated to The United States. While there, they sometimes participate in various hip-hop events up to this day.
